Putting on an event like the NetworkM meet-ups is no easy task and sometimes in the weeks leading up to the event, I wonder if it’s worth all the time and effort.

But then I finish a wonderful day at my meet-up where people get to play, laugh and have strong, meaningful discussions my worries and doubts are soothed. And in the days to follow, people from various meet-ups from around the globe share their thoughts and experiences from their own meet-ups on www.theNetworkM.net and it becomes that much more apparent how necessary these events are.

I hope the meet-ups continue to grow and improve as we learn from our experiences. Next year we will host three meet-ups in March, June and November. In the mean time, take some time to read the excerpts below about the various meet-up experiences from around the globe. And if you have any thoughts of your own, please feel free to share them on the forums.

Yours,

Matthew

“The feedback was great. In a conversation with 8 people after watching the Podcast we reviewed the topics he spoke about, made sure everyone understood, and discussed themes such as Identity, where am I in the whole process of inside and outside, world and spirit, as well as the Network Quality Nicanor touches on... I have known of Meet Ups for more than a year now, and only now have I experienced one myself. I think it is a great idea, a very beautiful picture to think that people all over the world thought about the same stuff in the course of yesterday.”       - Katharina Ludwig, Munich, Germany

“We shared our passions, aspirations and initiatives, which ultimately interweave with what the Goetheanum, Youth Section and Nicanor Perlas are working to achieve. We ended with the enthusiasm and warmth that are the result of what Bodo von Plato once mentioned…as being the result of the interaction taking place on many levels between two individuals and the hierarchies which sustain them.”-   Vassag Baghboudarian, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

“…I was reminded of Perlas’ words on last Wednesday after a shooting in a Finnish school where 9 people were killed. It raised a question: how could we notice each others wounds when our trials just become too much to handle and we fall off from our path? How can an individual be so lost and no one is able to help?”    -Mikael Hakkarainen, Helsinki, Finland

“Imagine: 16 people, not knowing each other, not even by name, playing a moon landing or the robbery of a bank in four groups, one as a balett, one as a horrormovie one as a crime-story and one as a tragedy.…we improvised a lot and had a lot of fun. Especially the meeting of younger and older generation was a very special thing which led a few of us to think about organizing an event focusing on that theme. The tradition will be continued…”   -Martino Scherazade, Stuttgart, Germany

“I will look forward to the next meet-up, and look forward to the dialogue continuing, both here on NetworkM and wherever people are where, in person, we all can continue to grow both our consciousness and our dedication to action – however that works for each of us.”   -Matthew Temple, Los Angeles, USA
