Submission Guidelines for NetworkM eNews

In order to foster a community-wide conversation about social engagement, NetworkM is soliciting articles for its eNews which discuss individual and organizational efforts to further contribute to society by addressing social and spiritual topics from the unique perspectives which individuals drawn on in their involvement with the social change movement. Articles accepted for submission will be published in the NetworkM eNews, on the website and discussed in forums. Articles may also qualify for publication in the NetworkM print journal, and be presented in meetings with members and friends of the community network.

Types of Articles

• Feature articles (up to 1,000 words)

• Organization or member spotlights (500 words)

• Creative Works or Fiction (up to 1,000 words)
  

• Reviews (350-450 words)

Submission Instructions

If your article contains copyrighted materials, you are responsible for obtaining permission for the NetworkM to publish the copyrighted materials.

Attached along with the article (in .doc or .rtf format) please submit the following items:

• Your name. Please spell it exactly as you want it published

• The title of the article. If you get to choose the title, make it descriptive and inviting. When readers are looking at the front page of our eNews, the title is the only basis they have for deciding whether to click on the link to your article. Note: For recurring monthly articles, you may not get to choose the title.

• Headings. Please include headings (short summaries or introductions of your article) so that it is easy for busy readers to scan your article (just as you do when reading other publications). Headings are especially important when people are reading online. If your article does not have headings, the editor may add them.

• A brief biographical paragraph (50 words). This biography is a chance for authors to say a little bit about themselves and their story. We encourage authors to describe their relationship to the NetworkM partner network and the social renewal movement in their biography.

• A 100 x 100 pixels JPG image of author.

• 2-3 photos of the project or organization (each photo should be no larger than 500 pixels); submit in JPG or GIF format.

Editing Policy

Articles: NetworkM reserves the right to edit all submitted articles for length and appropriateness. NetworkM's editing process allows for each article to be returned back to the author for author’s approval, as well as to pose any queries or concerns before being finalized and published in the eNews. Once approved, the NetworkM editing team acts as the sole arbiter of whether to accept an article for publication and when to publish it, either in whole or in part.
